Chicco Keyfit Travel System - Stroller?

Anyone have experience with the Chicco Keyfit system?  Specifically the stroller? I know the bucket seat and base are rated #1 for safety.  I'm worried that because it's part of a system the stroller might be crappy.

    I'm not a fan of the travel systems.  They aren't "crappy" and will serve their purpose but they aren't as nice or easy to use as some of the higher end strollers.  

    We used the Chicco Keyfit 30 car seat with the Chicco Keyfit Caddy and then bought a nicer stroller when DD outgrew the infant car seat.

    I started out with one of the Chicco Cortina systems that I found on consignment. If it is the same stroller you are looking at, it is ginormous. Okay for walking in the neighbourhood, but not at all practical for car trips. It took up the entire trunk and half the back seat of our station wagon.

    I recommend getting the bucket and base separately and put your money into a better stroller. You can probably get a car seat adaptor with most brands. You could also just get the Keyfit Caddy which is cheap and light, for those quick trips in and out of the car, but it's not a solution for a longer-term stroller.

    Just so you are clear about the car seat ratings, it is NOT for safety, but ease of use.

    That said, the stroller is junk. You would be better off getting the car seat and a stroller frame and a better stroller down the road.

    I would just get the carseat, and a different stroller. We have that same seat and love it.

    My SIL used the same infant seat with her kids when they were little, and she had gotten the system. She said the stroller is too bulky and difficult to maneuver. 

    ETA: I used a Graco snap and go with my chicco carseat, and I now have a Jeep Liberty stroller, and found out that it will take the chicco seat as well, AND it has the strap to secure it properly.

    We just started using the stroller part, mostly because it just got warm here in the past couple of days. It serves its purpose for our little neighborhood walks. My son is still small for his age, so he should probably still be in the carrier, but he hates it! So far he loves hanging out in there for our walks.
