Has your LO had egg whites? If not, when do you plan on starting? What about birthday cake on his first birthday, is it ok to give it to him if it has eggs in it?
He just had egg whites for the first time this morning and was fine. He'd had egg yolks for a while. I don't think birthday cake would be a big deal but you might want to try giving him eggs some time this week before his birthday. You would not want it ruined because of birthday cake that caused an allergic reaction.

My LO has been eating whole eggs for a few months now. I hated making two separate versions of scrambled eggs, so we just went for it lol. You have to try at some point, so you might as well do it now.

I have given whole eggs (scrambled) to my LO since he was about 7 months old. We don't have any allergies in our family, so we thought it was fine. He loves them.
In my province, the official advice is that babies can have anything other than honey and choking hazards unless there's a family history of allergies. We've been cautious with a lot of things because of LO's eczema, but egg whites have been fine. Actually my doc recommends trying them before a year because she says there's an egg white component to the 1 year vaccination so it's good to test it out before that! Good luck!
DD has eggs in the am. Her daddy is a chef and loves cooking for her.
Funny thing- I read that the whites are what people are allergic to when an egg allergy is involved. So he did the yolk for a while and now we just scramble an entire egg for her.

This. You may want to try egg yolks first and then slowly incorporate the whites if you are concerned about an allergic reaction.
