Anyone only have one set of betas done?

in 1st Trimester

I had my confirmation appt. on Friday. They drew blood to check my betas. The NP said she just wanted to see if they were in the range that they think it should be (I was 5w2d). So I guess, if they are close or over 1000 then she wont draw again. Anyone else have this happen? I really didn't want to have betas drawn because I'm afraid the numbers will stress me out. (I had a CP last cycle). I do have a dating/viability u/s in 2 weeks.

    With my first pregnancy I only had one set done at like 4 weeks.

    This time my doctor never checked my betas.

    With my first two pregnancies (2nd ended in MC at 7wks) I didn't have any. I only had them with my current pregnancy bc it was the result of IUI.

    Didn't have any done with DS. Don't plan to this time around,... but I'm sort of averse to a lot of the testing.

    I've heard of family practitioners doing this - not OBs though.  The reason you'd want a second beta draw is that the number means very little - it's whether or not your number doubled in a 24-48 time period. 
    Me: 30, DH: 40 
    TTC since January 2012HSG & Bloodwork: Normal, SA: NormalDx: Unexplained Infertility 50mg Clomid + TI = BFN (three cycles)
    50mg Clomid + trigger + IUI = BFP (one cycle)
    Beta #1 (12dpo) = 49  Beta #2 (14dpo)= 149

    Expecting g/g twins Oct '13

    You're adverse to having blood taken? How do you make it through pregnancy?
