Had to upgrade my car today, I was actually sad. But, I had a 2 door Honda civic and that wasn't gonna fly. So I got a Chevy equinox and so far I really like it. I'm so nervous to drive it and park it, I'm used to such a small car I have to get used to this.
Anyone else had to get a new car due to new baby??

Re: Got my mom mobile!
But we don't do car payments or the consumer debt thing and the price was right. Its a lot bigger than mt current car that is way too small for everyone!!!
Still saving my pennies for a Toyota sienna!!!
I haven't got one yet, but will be. I drive a Chevy Trailblazer right now. Will be getting something to better fit three kids.
Not sure what kind I want yet though.
H wants us to get a mini too. Either a Sienna or an Odessey. I am not sure if I can picture myself driving a mini van!!! Haha! We will have to see.
My best friend just got a used sienna and its awesome. It's an '05 but its fully loaded so you would never know how old it is. This will be my first so I don't really need all that space yet.
Hey congrats on your new wheels!
We bought a new car last year and knew we were going to be ttc so we went with a four door. Our plan is to space our kids out 4 years so we should be good for 8 years with this car before we have to upgrade to something bigger.

We have one! They are awesome.. My SIL has one as well but with her she's put about 10 000 into it as she always has problems with hers. We live in Vancouver Canada, and she lives in whistler. There is tons of salt on the roads up there so that's a slight issue with hers. Plus, she's not the best driver lol.
We are looking at a dodge truck! 4 door. We go hunting and that would be perfect, plus it's a 6 seater so that fits in well.
I was hoping to keep my Audi Q5 but I don't think it is going to work. We are just now moving my 15 month old from the infant carseat and the convertible seat causes me to have to move the front seats up very far when rear facing. Since I will eventually have 3 back there, it just won't work if I have to sit shoved up to my steering wheel. The Diono Radian seats fit 3 across, but I guess my back seat is a little shallow. We are going to look at the new Infinity JX with the third row and hopefully that works. If not, I will check out the Ford Explorer with 3 rows.
On a side note, my husband decided last month to buy himself a great dad car for a father of 3 under 2....a Porsche 911
But to be fair, he discussed it extensively with me before and I said go ahead. In the 15 months we have had Layla, she has never once been in his car anyways. He drives his car to work and on our date nights. We drive my car if we go anywhere as a family. And he only buys used cars, so the payment was only $30 more than what he was paying anyways.

I used to be so anti mini but my friend recently got a mini and I got insanely jealous! Haha! Never thought that would happen! We live 5 hours from each of our families, in separate directions, so we road trip a lot. With two carseats and two dogs we need the space!
But for now the basic SUV will be fine with two. Still better than the comically small clown car I usually drive around DS in!
We have the same issue of traveling with kids and dogs to visit family frequently. My family is 4 hours north of us, IL's are 4 hours south. We got a sienna last summer (although I absolutely did NOT want one, I wanted a station wagon) I freaking love it. Road trips are so much better. We had a camry before and 2 dogs, 2 adults, a baby, and all the gear/luggage was just too much for that car. Pretty much anything would have been better than everyone crammed into that car. I think without the dogs I could have made it work, but I've been spoiled by DD's car seat being so high up now- I don't think I could go back. I have a rental car right now and it is absolutely killing my back to bend over and put her in her car seat, I want my van back!
Our 14 year old Lumina heard us thinking about getting a second car and promptly blew our its transmission. So now instead of possibly getting a new car we are looking at getting two used ones.
I have absolutely no clue when it comes to cars, so as long as it has four wheels and drives I'm happy with whatever we end up with. The plan right now is to get a small SUV (to fit two carseats and a dog) now, and then a second car at the end of the summer before the new school year starts.
We need to find something soon, because in the meanwhile we're borrowing FIL's truck and I HATE driving it.
I o hunting too! i got a Toyota Tacoma last sept, I carpool so I decided to get a 4 door so It is perfect for kiddos I think we'll only have 2 and we will try to space them out so that we won't have too many car seats. I love my truck though, I feel like its the perfect automobile without screaming mom mobile. Also we go hunting and fishing a lot so I gt a 4x4. DH has an old jeep grand Cherokee and a dodge dually that seats 6
