Baby Boy is here!!!!

Two weeks ago today on April 13th at 2:16 p.m., I gave birth to the cutest lil angel on earth.  He weighed 7lbs 10oz and was 19 3/4 inches and he was born at 35+4 gestation.

I started having contractions around 3 a.m. but they were not regular strong but not regular.  I was able to go back to sleep for a few hours when I awoke to them getting stronger.  I had already been to L&D twice so I decided to drink tons of water and put my feet up in hopes they would stop.  By 10 a.m. they had become regular and had gotten to 5 mins apart.  I called my doctor and was told to head in to L&D.  Called DH and by the time he got home the contractions were 3mins apart.  By the time we drove the 30 mins to the hospital the contractions had gotten down to like a minute and half.  Talk about pain taking your breath away!  They did the usual work up to make sure there was no underlying cause for the contractions.  No UTI, not dehydrated, no infection and my blood sugars were great.  This was it I was in true labor.  They gave me something to make me comfortable but not to stop the contractions.  After 2hrs in L&D they made the call to go ahead and do my C-Section.

They came in full force and started prepping me for surgery.  I was taken back at 1:30. At 2:16 I heard the most beautiful sound a mother could hear, the strong cry of a healthy pair of lungs :-)  He was beautiful with a head full of jet black bone straight hair and cheeks like two fluffy clouds.  He was perfect.  He didn't need any oxygen or extra help from the NICU Thank God.  We were so grateful for that.  He was able to nurse in the recovery room and he nursed like a champ.  He ended up having a little jaundice but after 3 nights at home with a Billi blanket he was fine.

We had our baby on Saturday the 13th.  Closed on our house Monday the 15th!  I had a man from the title company come to my hospital room for me to sign papers for the house lol.  We started moving into the new house on Wednesday the 17th and finished moving in Wednesday the 24th!  All this while recovering from a C-Section.

The first week home was pretty hard.  But I was doing a lot more than my doctors would have liked lol...  The key to that was pain meds!!! Take them like your told and do not miss a dosage.  I took mine every 6hrs and did great especially for everything I was doing which I do not recommend!   If you over work your body you will feel the pain and you will bleed more and brighter red.  When you notice those physical signs sit down your done for the day!

We have been completely in our new home for a week.  Our baby boy is now 2 weeks old and I'm 2 weeks post opp and physically I feel like myself again as far as mentally I'll get there:-).  Hardly any pain if it all.  My incision is healing quite nicely per my husband lol and I've only had about 3 hard days they reduced me to tears because my body does not look anything like I remembered lol.  Considering everything I've gone through the last couple of weeks I feel like an Olympian:-)  I just keep my head held high and remember that it could have been worse....
