Play kitchen (unisex?)

I sold my old cellphone for a few hundred dollars and have decided that I am going to be one of the cool parents. I am going to use the money to give the kids some new toys.

levi is getting a bike, dylan is getting a telescope but I was also thinking of a play kitchen for levi (and dylan will totally play with it too).

However DH says kitchens are for girls..So how many people have or will buy one for a boy? or would?

He is the main cook in the house so I am not sure why he thinks play kitchens are girly

We have the Kidkraft Vintage kitchen in white. Both my kids love it, including my son who probably uses it more than his sister.

More men are chefs than women. All women appreciate a man who is a good cook, so I say start him out early. C's favorite things to play with are his food, pots, and shopping cart. We have a little FP kitchen, but I want a big one for him so bad. We just can't splurge on it right now. If you go to Kohls.com and put in play kitchen there are a lot that are neutral, non-girly looking.

Yeah. Men cook too. We will definitely be getting one for DS at some point. We will probably make one, but if not I would also love to get the kidcraft retro red kitchen. That thing is awesome.

We have the Servin Surprises one. It also turns into a table. And each add on that you buy, has different sayings and signs different songs according to what it is. It came with the pizza set and some other items. We have since added the ice cream set, baby high chair set, and BBQ set.

We went with a workbench for Alastair, but mainly because he likes wrenches. Whenever we go to friends or the doctor's, he plays excitedly with the kitchens there. Not girly. I may not choose the pink Barbie one, but other than that, there is nothing girly about a kitchen.

I don't have a kitchen for B but I really want to get one when we buy a bigger house. He loves everything kitchen and his pots and pans set, oh and playing with all my cabinets in my kitchen.
I don't think a kitchen Is a girl toy at all. Everybody has a kitchen and everybody uses a kitchen so I don't get the whole boy vs girl toy thing.

We have the servin surprise table too. Both kids love it! I like that its self storing and the kids eat breakfast and color on it. MH loves to cook and he is pretty manly. Guns and cars and tattoos and stuff.

Lo is totally obsessed with the ice cream set! I recommend the birthday cake one.

Edison loves his hand me down kitchen and all of the accessories. Unfortunately it's in our basement due to lack of room so he only plays with it when I'm doing laundry. I think it's an awesome toy. All kids seem to love kitchens and I dislike the it's a girl you mentality. My dad is the one who cooked in our house growing up so even when I was young that mentality wouldn't fly. Look at the Food Network!

I dont think its the kitchen in itself.

I think its more of the type of kitchen, although I could care less whether its bright pink or not lol

Luca got the Little tikes grow with me kitchen for Christmas and he loves it, plays in it everyday. I never even second guessed a kitchen being "girly" when we bought it. DH is the cook in our house, so it just seemed natural.
