I totally agree. The One Direction craze reminds me of NKOTB from back in the day. I was in fourth grade when I gave them up. By the time high school rolled around, I thought boy bands like the Backstreet Boys were ridiculous. It seems a little childish.

No flames here but that band (and others in that genre) aren't my cup of tea personally, but define "obsessed"? With their music, or with the band members?

And is it equally weird for women in their 20's and 30's to be "obsessed" with bands like Aerosmith or the Rolling Stones, who are easily approaching their 70's in age (if not already)?

I was definitely a teeny bopper when I was a teenager...in college that progressed to liking (NOT obsessing) Justin Timberlake (still do) but One Direction and Justin Bieber?!?! I'm okay...I'll pass!

I do believe they are in their 20s (20-21). I find that the older I get, the younger that particular age looks.

I'm 33 and completely agree. But to me this also includes Twilight stuff, too

Confession: I HATE Twilight. Ugh. I am in my 30's and have no obsession with little boys either.

I actually like 1D, for their music though, not for the little boys!!! but im a big soppy romantic (especially right now!!!) and now im off to listen to them!

I agree. I saw a picture somewhere (facebook) that basically pointed out that if grown men acted like that for a female version they'd be labeled pedophiles.

Then again I've never really gotten the obsession with music groups: heck I grew up during the Nsync vs Backstreet Boys fight.

I had my obsessive teenage days when the back street boys and nsync were big. By the time I was about 17 I had moved on and didn't really obsess over anyone any more. I agree about the twilight crap craze too. I am so happy the saga is over. Hopefully the next big craze won't be so crappy.

It's one thing if you have a daughter or son that's into them and you join in with them. But I've literally seen grown women with no kids flip out over them. They'll make signs and tshirts and head to concerts with other grown women. I just don't get it. Lol

I don't understand how kids can like all the crap that is out there now. I was obsessed w NKOB in elementary school but that is as far as u went with any kind of boy bands. I never really liked any of the mainstream stuff anyway, in more of a rock n roll girl!
