Warning, this is a vent, and I apologize if it seems rambling.
DS is 17 months old, and I am struggling with getting him to eat real food. He did really well for a while, between 9-13 months, then regressed when his 1 year molars and some other teeth came in. I caved, and started purees again, now I'm stuck. Most finger foods I offer end up on the floor. I try offering a variety of foods, foods he used to love once upon a time, but now he just shuts his mouth, shakes his head and says no, and either won't touch it or throws it on the floor.
We also ended up back on bottles due to an ear infection, and needing him to drink to avoid dehydration. I've got it down to just one before bed, but COME ON. And DH is no help there, he doesn't see a problem with it.
This morning was the worst. He woke up screaming and crying, and wouldn't stay still for his diaper change or to get dressed. I finally got that done, got him in the living room for a sippy of milk, and he just lost it. He turned red, screamed and cried, and started head-butting me, hitting me, and pulling my hair. I just sat there and cried. DH woke up and came out and basically bear-hugged DS to keep him from hurting himself until his tantrum was over. At one point, he calmed down, and asked for me, but when he came over to me, smacked me and started screaming again. This went on for another 5 minutes before he got quiet, sat in my lap and drank his milk. He then went on like none of it had ever happened.
I don't know why this morning got to me so bad, but I feel like I'm just failing.
Re: Really starting to feel like I'm doing something wrong
ugh
Hopefully it is just a phase. You are soooo not failing, just going through a rough patch. I personally don't think the bottle is too big of a deal. When I start worrying about stuff like that (LO can't use a spoon yet as an example), I ju
My daughter definitely has days where I feel like she hasn't eaten anything. Yet she continues to grow and gain weight. I talked to her doctor about it at her 15 month appointment. We've never done purees, but she had regressed from eating or at least
I'm so sorry. What a rotten way to start your day!
My DS is 17 months as well and doing all the same things. It's a rough age. The crocodile roll for the diaper changes is the worst!

Okay, so there was an issue on my BMB many moons ago where a child had a serious food strike after teething. The mom did BLW, so her situation would be similar to yours in that he was eating table food fine before, but after teething, just wouldn
Sorry you had a rough morning. My daughter is on a peanut butter and bread kick right now. And she has to start the day off with a banana. Every Day! I could single handedly prop up the banana market!
As for the tantrums! I am sure people will ge
