I love the name, but, due to the associations mentioned above, I'd probably use it for a dog rather than a person. I know a Corgi named Dexter and he's awesome.
GP name. DH loves it but I'm sure it's only because Dexter is one of our shows. I can't see myself actually using this name mainly because I think it sounds too harsh not because of the tv show/ nerdy associations with it.
I've never seen the show, but it still brings to mind the show for me. But in a few years, that might not matter. Ostensibly, I like the sound of it. If it's your favorite I wouldn't let the show keep you from using it.
i like it! I've read the first book, Dexter but never watched the show. I dont think the ame has bad mojo. I was forced into watching "something borrowed" recently and the main man is named Dexter nn Dex. i found it to be lovely & refreshing!
We almost used it with DS2. I know a Dexter and he is one of the sweetest guys I know. However I did still go with Dexter the serial killer first when I hear it. My DH went with the nerdy cartoon character.... We decided not to use it because or the baby
Re: Dexter
This will sound mean, but Dexter just strikes me as a n
One of my favorite tv shows of all time.
But as a kid's name I just couldn't do it. Nerd or serial killer are my 1st two thoughts, neither of which is a great connotation.
