Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

bedtime feeding question.

because I can't remember what I did with my first...

DD is pretty much totally on milk. Her nighttime bottle was mixed formula/milk and the container is almost empty and I don't want to buy anymore (she's been great with milk)

Anyway... If your LO is off the formula and still taking a night time bottle, is it in a "bottle" or sippy cup? When are you planning on/did you stop the before bed feeding (either bottle or sippy)?

 TIA!

Re: bedtime feeding question.

  • It's in a sippy. He drinks a little milk with dinner, goes straight to the tub and then grazes on the rest of the milk from dinner it until about 30mins before bedtime. I don't have any plans to stop it.

    huh. I might try that.

With DS I remember it was so hard to "break him" of me feeding him a bottle then putting him in bed. Maybe this would work better for us....

If your LO isn't using the bottle to fall asleep (mine wasn't) it should be a fairly easy transition. Good luck!

  • After she turned 1 we switched from bottle to sippy and now we read books as she drinks it. Then we go to bathroom to brush teeth and then she goes straight to bed. So yea, milk directly beore bed (but followed by brushing) and I'm not planning to stop anytime soon. Sometimes she'll drink a couple of oz sometimes 6. But she likes it and I like it so it all works great?
  • At 12 months we started to give sippys but she preferred the bottle. I got a Nuk hello kitty 10oz sippy. It looks like a bottle but the nipple actually is made like a sippy spout. It worked well. She started turning the bottles upside down laughing at the milk dripping to the floor. So at 14 months we stopped bottles it was all sippys
