My baby is almost 11 months old now and eats 50-50 between formula and real food. When she was a baby we never used formula after 1 hr, but now that she's older I'm wondering if its okay to use the same bottle or leftover food to feed her later in the day.
So basically I'm wondering when this 1-hour rule no longer applies.
Thank you
Re: baby food leftovers
I haven't stressed too badly over this, and have been just fine so far. Formula is fine at room temp for up to 2 hours, and if I had extra in the bottle (no longer an issue), I'd totally reuse it so long as I put it in the fridge immediately.
As far as jars of baby food, I think up to three days in the fridge is fine, so long as it hasn't been sitting out long. Again, I would put it in the fridge immediately. If I forget about it and leave it out by accident, into the trash it goes.

One of the issues to be wary of is if the food has served in a separate dish. When you put the spoon from baby's mouth into the food, you introduce bacteria into the food, which can cause problems and hasten spoilage.
To be on the safe side, serve your LO's food separately from the amount that's being stored (ie don't feed directly from the jar).
Aadewitt, I think you are on the right track.
