Well, I feel like an idiot!

So, my coworkers who are getting married this summer (yes, to each other) just came in and handed me a card that said "To Me, DH, and Baby".  I just assumed it was a baby thing and was like, "Awww, you guys didn't have to!"  I opened it up and it was a wedding invitation.  I feel like a total idiot for just assuming it was about me, and I'm super embarassed.  ::headdesk:: Oh well, hopefully, I covered it up OK.

    Oops... That totally sounds like something I would do! But I wouldn't expect the invitation to include baby and I wouldn't expect it to be hand delivered at work. Not really your fault for making that assumption.

    I did this exact same thing, only it was with a Mom at my son's school who I'm friends with.  She handed me a card and said "this is for you" with such a sweet voice, I said, "aww, that's so sweet, thanks so much", and it ended up being an invitation to her son's birthday party.  DOH!

    I had something sorta similar happen. DH's friend's wife messaged me on FB the other day asking for our address and said she had something to send us. I replied back with our address and said it was so sweet of her to think of us!

    Yeah, we got an invite to their kid's first birthday party a few days later. Whoops. I guess I assumed she was sending a gift or a card!

    Oh face/hand plant. I prolly would have after I realized it was a wedding invite been like it is "aww you didn't have to." "it is so cool you added the new little one, u didn't have too." Hope the awkwardness doesn't last long.
