Mobile: get me outta here.
I'm visiting the ILs in MI and I'm about 3 secs from running back to NYC. I grew up in the suburbs of NJ and all I can say is that things are def different here. I get frustrated everytime I'm here but being pregnant this time is lowering my patience. Allow me to rant. I've been here 12hrs.....Excuse the length. I need to vent and this is my only form right now.
1 they are chain smokers. They said bc I'm pregnant they won't smoke in front of me. Amazing. Thank you. Until I am trying to fall asleep in the room next to them and they are smoking before bed and the smoke it seeping through the vents and into my nose. I appreciate the effort but I feel like I'm going to puke. I was awoken by cig smell again when they were smoking in the bathroom which is right next to our room.
2 I'm a vegetarian and they don't understand why. My FIL finds it humorous to talk about killing animals in front of me. Literally he didn't even wait til we got to the house. He was talking about skinning rabbits on the car ride from the airport. I had a pet rabbit for 8yrs who passed a few months ago. She was my baby. I even have a tattoo of her on my arm. I don't give a reaction when he does this hoping it will stop but 3yrs later and it goes on.
3 they asked about baby names and We told them. They hate both. Liam Wayne Wayne is their family name, your welcome ILs! and Olive grey. They said Olive? Like the fruit? No like the motherfcking name smart aes. It Was a popular name back in the 20s and 30s and I can put money on it that it will be popular again in the next 5yrs. I told them politely not to make fun of it cause there is a 50 chance that will be your grandchilds name. They brought up some awful NNs and I said of you dislike it so
Much you can call her Liv or Livvy. They finally shut up. BTW there are 3 boys in the family names jasper, sparrow, and sage. Is olive really any weirder than those.
4 and my brother in laws dog is chained to a dog house in the back yard. At least she has a dog house now. She didn't last time I was here. She was Barking like crazy when a random dog came out in the middle of the night to mess with her. Thank god after 2yrs of bugging my BIL he finally got her fixed so at least I know she didn't get knocked up last night. I'm going to head out there now and make sure she has water.
Sorry for the length. Super emotional today and I really needed to get that out and cry a little. This baby is making me a nut job. 4 more days....

Indoor smoking is so disgusting. Is this the BIL that's smoking indoors...the one who's child just passed from cancer? I would definitely talk with them and ask them to step outside while you are staying with them for the sake of your baby,
UGH - that sounds like my worst nightmare - every single thing on that list! Hang in there and come vent to us any time!
