Secondary IF

New and Question

Hi everyone - I recently suffered my third miscarriage (two in a row after DD). I was officially diagnosed with IF and was referred to a RE. My doctor gave me a name that he recommends. I trust my doctor but want other options too. I don't know anyone IRL that needed to see this kind of specialist. How did everyone find the doc they wanted? Did anyone use US News Health Reports?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: New and Question

  • Welcome and sorry that you're here.  None of us want to be but it's a great place to share with others in the same boat.  I have several friends that did IVF with their first pregnancies so our RE came highly recommended from one of them.  He was also recommended by my Ob/Gyn so that's who we went with.  Are you still in the Cleveland area?  If so, I would recommend UH Fertility Center - https://www.uhhospitals.org/services/obgyn/uh-fertility-center.

  • Hello and welcome. I wish you a very brief stay!

My RE was recommended by my OBGYN and after looking up the doc I found out she is one of the best of Boston area. She is part of a great hospital with great reputation. I had other options, but after meeting her I felt like we can work well together. For me it worked out the first time, I got my dd. Still waiting on my second miracle.

I wish you best of luck with your journey!

  • I went with the RE that my OBG recommended. I know I looked on a website for SART for stas on each clinic.  In the end, what mattered more to me was the time and access I had to a nurse or RE and how their bedside manner was with me.

  • I'm so sorry that you are going through this. When my ob recommended my RE I didn't even question it. I got an awesome vibe and then later I realized he is one of the best in the area. Good luck!

  • Early in our marriage we were referred to an RE.  We went and I could not stand him.  Very rude.  Had no bedside manner.  Our OB/GYN referred us quicker than a year so we waited.  The second time we were referred, we met with the workers at the clinic and felt sooooo much more comfortable.  This time I asked to be referred back there.  Unfortunately, my favorite nurse is not there.  But, I still really like the nurse we have worked with.
