Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Mommy Monotany

Let me preface this by saying two things: I would do anything for my son. I would cut out my own heart if he needed it. And I am a FTM.  Having put that out there, is anyone else just a little burnt out of the Mommy Monotany lately? DS will be three months old next week, and sometimes it just feels like I am living the same day of my life over and over. I am on parenting duty pretty much solo due to DH's work/school schedule (he leaves at 8 a.m. and gets home at midnight or later most nights of the week). DS didn't nap well today, so I put him down a little early.  He woke up thirty minutes later from what I think was gas, and I just about cried when I thought I'd have to start our bedtime routine all over and re-settle him because when he goes down at night that four hour stretch is the only sort of "guaranteed" time to myself I get in a 24 period.

I do all the day and night feedings, changes, fussy times, play times, not to mention 95% of the household chores/errands. DH can't help not because he doesn't want to, but simply because he just isn't home most of the time. I am so grateful for a beautiful, healthy baby. Today I am just feeling sort of cross-eyed from it all. Thanks for reading this mommy manifesto! Indifferent

  • I hear ya. It can definitely feel as though you're living the same day over and over again. Can you try to have some outings a few times a week? Maybe library story time, or a walk, or mommy and me groups, etc....

  • We go to a Mommy and Me music class on Tuesdays and that is a huge help. We try to make it to the public library story times but it falls right around the time he needs a nap/is napping (10:30 a.m.) so it's almost more of hassle to go than not because he

  • I feel ya! I have 10 months off whereas DH is working full time so I do most of the baby care. And LO won't take bottles so nights are 100% mine. Sometimes a few days would go by and I didn't even notice. I started focusing a little more on finding what I
