Caffeine

Hello ladies,
I am 15 wks and would love some feedback about caffeine. My dr says it's ok in small doses an I have read in books and on the Internet that you can have less than 200mgs per day which I never come close to drinking. My first pregnancy, I never drank any caffeine but now that I have horrible pregnancy migraines and I chase a 1.5 year old around all day, I find that I cannot live without at least one per day. One of my prego friends said that her dr said that in 2nd and 3rd trimesters caffeine is unlimited...not that I believe it...just trying to figure it all out : thanks!!!

  • My midwife said the equivalent of 2 cups of coffee per day is fine, but that there are conflicting theories on how caffeine effects birth weight. So I limit myself to one cup of half caff a day, and have more or less eliminated soda (it's not good for you
  • Oooh I didn't realize that drip coffee had so much! I've been having a cup of half caff and a coke every day...I'll have to just stick with the coke then

  • I always cut back to almost nothing during the first tri and then let myself has a soda or coffee a day. If I don't have some caffeine I often get horribel mirgraines. A bit always seems to help.
