Potty training...

ok, who has done it?  Who has been successful?  What method did you use?

I've read that you don't want to miss the window and 18 months - 24 months is the magic time it should happen.  After 2 years old it gets tougher as the child gets more independent.

  • Thanks for your stories and advice!  The 3 day method says to get rid of diapers and switch to underwear cold turkey and never go back to diapers.  We've had very good luck with going cold turkey on other things with DD (getting rid of bottles,

  • DD is partially trained and only wears pull-ups at night or when we are out shopping (she refuses to use public restrooms). She stays dry all day and daycare has played a major part in this.

  • We're PT at the moment. I read Oh Crap! and really like it. She says between 20 and 30 months is the "window".

We started because we had a bad rash, we were at home most of the time with a fussy 1 month old and my mum was here all day every

  • RE night time, the book I read said to do it within 3 months of daytime and to just wake them up 2-3 times a night and keep the potty in the room for them.
