Today is Take Your Child to Work Day

XP from S12...

Will you be taking LO to work next year? Or if you have older kids, are they with you today?

I will definitely bring DD next year. I work in a high school and there are quite a few munchkins running around today. It's so cute!  Two of the gym teachers have young sons, and they are playing tag with the gym class on the football field. The culinary arts teacher brought her daughter, and they're making rice krispie treats because they are her favorite. The teacher said her DD should be covered in marshmallow from head to toe by the end of the day. :)

  • Nope.  Where I work, it's frowned upon.  Probably because it turned into a day of doing nothing and playing instead of the purpose for which it was originally created.  It's supposed to teach your kids about what you do, but it got out of h

  • My company has one, but it isn't today, I think it is sometime in June. They have age limits on it, maybe 8-14 and it is primarly run by our summer interns. I will probably bring DD when she is old enough.

  • We have an age limit too.  I didn't see anything about it, they used to run a nice program for the kids though.

  • We don't do a formal program at my office, and I'm sure DD would have to be at least 8 or 10 to be willing to sit quietly in my office while I work.  I have a boring old desk job, so I can't imagine what she would do all day so that I could remain pr

  • Nope.  I wouldn't consider bringing him until he's 4+.  Our office is fairly quiet, and not conducive to a toddler running like a maniac lol.

  • Huh? I had no idea it was today. Apparently we don't do it.

  • I would love to but where I work it is frowned upon.  In the past, the superintendent used to send an email out every year to the entire district stating that it wasn't professional and blah blah.

    I think that's a shame.  I rem

I WFH so every sick day, snow day, and daycare closing is a take your child to work day.  Those are my least favorite days.

  • Cute! My work has a couple events for the kids today and I would if I didn't have any meetings or deliverables due but given my portfolio, kind of unlikely. When my daughter is old enough to sit quietly and color at an empty desk, then

  • We don't have a take your kid to work day.  But then again, there are only 3 of us who have kids here (and one of them is my boss and he has 5 kids!).  Our office isn't really kid friendly anyway.  I guess if DD were older, I could maybe ha

  • I just noticed that today was take your child to work day.  We don't really do anything with it in my company.  In the area where I work there are 5 of us.  One guy is childless and the other 4 of us have 2-3 children each - ranging in age
