Undershirts

I noticed that some of you ladies mentioned wearing an undershirt underneath their regular shirt. 

I'm curious; what is the purpose?

DH wears them under his work shirts, and usually casual shirts. I thought it was kind of to smooth out the shirt, and keep from sweating through.

Im lucky if L has on anything, and both my kids get super hot, so I've never considered it.

    I only wear them under work shirts, since I don't clean them as often.

    My DH wears one under everything. I am not quite sure the purpose, but he does.

    DD never does, but we never wore onesies all the time either.

    Dh wears them under dress shirts and polos, like you said to avoid sweating through.

    I wear a cami under everything but a t-shirt. It helps smooth everything out.

    The girls almost never wear undershirts. Sometimes under a hooded sweatshirt,

    My reasoning for putting a onesie on Augie is so his belly isn't always hanging out.  An undershirt wouldn't really solve that problem.  It does for grownups who can tuck in an undershirt and keep it tucked in, but that's not happening with A

    I wear a cami/tank under everything because I am always cold so I like to have an extra layer. I also use them for more cleavage coverage if I have a lower cut top on. 

    L wears a lot of onesies still when it's cold, but we won't use undershi

    I always wear a cami or tank under my shirt, for the belly and/or cleavage factor...and because my mom always dressed me with an undershirt as a kid.  I don't know exactly why.  It's just normal to me.

    SO wears an undershirt for work because he is required to. I'll wear a cami if my shirt is low cut or see through. B doesn't wear an undershirt.
