My 7.5 month old has so far been fine at her check for weight, etc (she is 40th percentile both height and weight at 4 and 6 month checks).
She has always taken in less milk than what my son. She does a combination of breastfeeding and drinking pumped breastmilk while I am at work... but here is an average day.
Breastfeed in monring- 2 boobs full. No idea on ounces-- but guessing about 5-6 based on what I pump. She also takes forever to breastfeed-- sometimes more than a hour to empty 2 boobs.
While i am at work, drinks about 13 oz on average (a bad day is 10 a good day is 17).
When I get home, breastfeeds before bed.
She loves solids, we do fruits and veggies not cereal as the cereal backs her up.
My concern is that she does not poop that frequently (every other day at best, could be as long as every 4 days) and when she goes it is molded like an adults.
She has no other symptoms of dehydration, but I just feel like she is not getting enough. She rejects the bottle and won't take any more than this. I have tried to get her to take more in a bottle after breastfeeding at night and she pushes away.
We add breastmilk to her fruit and veggies, but that is not that much more (maybe 1-2 oz).
Would you be worried about the formed stool (she does not seem to be uncomfortable or anything) and drinking what I would guess is like 20 oz a day (again can't really be sure as the breastfeeding in morning and night).
Re: 7 month old hates bottles/breast...
and yes, I have talked to the Pedi... she said that if she was only bottle fed, I should look for at least 24 oz... but that since she was breastfeeding as well that as long as she was growing and satistfied not to worry about it.
