covertible car seat for smallish car

I have an '06 Pontiac Vibe. We currently have a Graco Snugride 35 installed in the center section of the back seat, and it works ok, but DD will be outgrowing it before too long and I'm starting to research convertible car seats. I am looking for one that will be RF as long as possible, but that will fit in my car. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg- I know the old adage "you get what you pay for" is somewhat true, but I just don't believe that some of these car seats costing $250 are that much safer than the ones that cost $150. Can anyone recommend a moderately priced car seat that will fit in what I would think is a mid-sized car?

    Graco MySize. It's around 150, and it will last even really tall kids to at least 5 to 6 years.

    Wow! Did not know that about the Snugride...It didn't look as big as some of the other infant seats, lol. I will definitely check out the MySize then. Thanks.

    What's your daughter's build like? That will play into how long she can use the seat. My DS is average height but has a very long torso so the Britax that we have is already getting a bit short for him but he has tons of room in the Radian just as an e

    I just bought the Safety 1st Guide 65 ($100) and it fits perfectly in the backseat of my Dodge Caliber. I previously had the Snugride 30.
