  I understand. My RE wanted me back next month, but I just can't bring myself to wean DD.  I had originally thought dec or jan, but even then I'm not sure I can do it. We might have a bit more time as I'm 34 and DH is 33. Good luck!

  TTC Since 3/2010
  Me-36, Unexplained Infertility, DH-35, all clear
  Clomid 50mg 12/2011 = BFN
  Clomid 100mg 1/2012 = BFN, with Cyst
  IVF #1 Lupron/Menopur/Gonal-f/HCG Trigger
  ER 4/19/12 = 11 retrieved, 6 fertilized,
  ET 4/22/12 = 2 transfered (day 3), remaining 3 weren't good enough to freeze
  Beta 5/3 = BFP, 87 Beta #2 5/7 560.9 Beta #3 5/9 1376.5 First u/s One Baby, 125bpm!
  Second u/s, 176bmp! Kicked over to the OB by the RE at 8w. Team Green!! 

  Baby girl J arrived two weeks early! Born into water, med-free. Hooray for Team Pink!

  That is such a tough decision! I'm in a similar boat, I want to start trying for number 2 right now, but I know I'm not ready to wean. GL with your decision.

  We did this not for IVF but for IUI. I EBF for 6 months then slowly weaned over a 2 month period. I dropped one session a week. DD handled it fine but I had a lot of guilt. I got my AF 5 days after our last nursing session.

  I went through the same thing when I weaned for a FET. In fact, I think I wrote an almost identical post! It was an emotional time for a lot of reasons, but in the end you are doing what is right for your family. You have given LO a great gift by nursing

  Here's the thing:  formula is not poison.  Yes, breastfeeding has benefits for baby and mom, but baby will not suffer from being weaned.  And your LO will love you just as much when you feed her formula as she does while being BF'd.
