How much do you eat in a day?

The past two days I have had the guys at work notice my eating patterns and are telling me I am eating too much. I want to throatpunch them because they tell me this when they see me eating fruit! !! fluck the fluck off you stupid bastids!!! clearly I am very annoyed over this. They tell me that my ob doesn't know what he is  talking about and that baby is going to be so huge I won't be able to push it out.. from fruit and yogourt and salad???

So how much are you eating in a day?

A typical weekday for me is:

breakfast - usually consists of fruit, toast and boiled egg

mid morning snack: either a fruit shake or a small cup of yogourt

lunch: leftovers or often a salad

afternoon snack: fruit or veggie with a bit of peanut butter

dinner: anything I am craving

Re: How much do you eat in a day?

  • I think objectively, you know that what you listed is clearly healthy and am appropriate amount of food for a person to eat, pregnant or not.

So, instead of focusing on how many calories are in a small yogurt cup, I think it is important to f

  • I think what you are eating is fine. I usually have breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, and snack. It's better to eat many small meals in a day than 3 big meals. Just ignore them and eat what you want and at least what you eat is healthy.
  • CoWorkers are too nosey! It sounds perfectly reasonable to me! Doctors opinion is what matters most. My nurse said my OB won't yell unless it's over 50lbs....the nurse said 25 35 lb weight gain is perfectly normal!

  • Definitely no eating disorders.. they are just nosey. It's a tighknit work situation, so everyone has their own opinions. I was not looking to validate my eating choices, just wanted to see how other mommas eat throughout the day.

  • My eating is basically the same. My dinner almost always involves a grain and veggie or a pasta. I'm about to head to the ILs for a week and I know they will all have something to say about my eating. I may throat punch a few people.

  • Oh my.  I work with all nurses, not sure if that is the blame or not.  Anyway very opinionated, at least 3-4 of them. I have gotten

    2) "you SURE you're not overeat

  • Wow Miss 2010.. comments like that from nurses? okay you are totally right, people are ridiculous with their unpopular opinions when it comes to pregnant ladies.

  • Since when are men experts on healthy eating for a pregnancy?  I'd just tell them to mind their own business since they have no idea what it's like to give birth in the first place.

  • I would just laugh at them when they question the doctor's advice.  Are they serious or teasing you?  If they are serious then they really don't know what a balanced diet it.  You sound like the poster child for healthy eating during pre

  • How rude!  Pregnant women should eat about 6 small meals/snacks a day.  Your choices are healthful and balanced. I've been feeling bad about myself because I don't think I'm eating enough!  Even though I know better, I'm still

  • For the record, I think they are being dildos and you should tell them to stfu.

    Typical food intake for me:

Breakfast: I generally get a breakfast sandwich from either McD's or Spangles, I have to have a solid amount of protein and I'm too

  • Depending on who is giving me advice, I usually turn comments like this into a snarky joke. Like "Oh - I didn't know you had a medical degree! My doctor has ___ years experience, but maybe I'll just drop my OB and see you instead." Then, for the rest

  • Honestly, I have no idea how you are getting your recommended calories with that menu. You are eating super healthy though so that is great! Don't listen to idiots at your work. Clearly they have no idea what they are talking about.

  • Oh trust, I am getting my recommended calories. I put cottage cheese in my salad instead of salad dressing, I always have cheese for breakfast. And dinner is a free for all, it could be something healthy, or takeout madness.
