Baby bathtub - sink or tub?

I put a baby bathtub on my registry that goes in the bathtub. After seeing one that goes in the sink I am considering changing it to the sink one since it will be less bending for me. Which do you prefer? What are the pros/cons of each? If you're for the sink one, how do you know if it will fit in your sink? TIA!

  • We used a baby tub that we could put on the counter in our bathroom, happened to fit on the rim of our kitchen sink, and then we were able to use in the tub when DD got bigger.  Did the trick for the first 9  months until DD could sit on her

  • The tub is a lot of bending, and the bathroom sink is small. And I never wanted butts in my kitchen sink. I used a baby tub that sat on the bathroom counter.

  • We used the Puj tub in the kitchen sink while DD was teeny--it wouldn't fit in our bathroom sinks.  Then we got the whale tub for the bathtub and then once she could sit well on her own we got the inflatable Duck tub.

  • We used a bath chair up until recently when DD got too big (she's 18 months now). I have back problems and being able to stand (as opposed to bend over) to bathe her has been marvelous. Also its really easy to rinse because you can spray underneath. We

  • I used a mesh bath seat, the tub was just so cumbersome the few times we filled it. I mostly bathed with her, great skin to skin and nursing time. Hoping to shower more with this baby, my toddler is afraid of the shower :(

  • I prefer the tub.  We stuck ours on the counter by the sink.  We had some crazy water temp issues so I wasn't about to run the faucet directly on the baby.  By 4-5 months DD started splashing around a lot so we had to move to the tub to con

  • We never actually used a tub... We just floated our daughter in the regular tub.  My mom always bathed all the babies that way, and we discovered that she just loooooved to float in the water and be swooshed back and forth in it. Memories of the w

  • The sink one is great for the early months but I got a bathtub one around the 4 month mark. It's nice not to have to bend over into a bathtub. I felt like I was constantly bending over attending to DS so to have a bath for the sink was nice.
