Hello ladies--I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong place and I did check the blog but didn't see anything. I scrolled a few pages too.
A routine growth check yesterday at 28w1d showed that our little bundle is in approx. the 5th percentile (2 lbs 1 oz) and the term IUGR was thrown at us. My OB has ordered bi-weekly BPPs for the next 3 weeks with another check with an MFM (and u/s) at the end of the those 3 weeks. I don't have any of the 'typical reasons' for a baby to have IUGR (no infection, drugs/alcohol, cord issues etc). We are an IVF pregnancy and we did have a vanishing twin which can increase the chance/risk for this.
My OB said as of right now, unless things change baby will be coming via c-section (for another issue) at/around 36/37 weeks.
Anyone have any insight on an IUGR baby? I'm trying to stay off Dr. Google, but want to be informed too.
THANKS!
Re: IUGR and baby coming early?
One of my twins was watched closely for IUGR from 22 weeks. He stayed around 10th percentile for many weeks but because of them already being high risk with shared placenta and TTTS, he developed absent end diastolic flow of his umbilical artery.

Thanks so much ladies! I've upped my protein intake as I've read that can only help and certainly won't hurt anything. Baby passed his/her first BPP with an 8/8, so we'll hope that continues!
We'll see what the next few weeks bring.&n
I had a sever IUGR baby born at a day shy of 34 weeks at 3 lbs 10 oz. He was in the less than 5% and I was having absent flow in the cord so the decision was made to deliver him. He was small (14%) at 26 weeks and then had really dropped a month later.
I am in the middle of this right now. Discovered lots of issues at our anatomy scan, super low fluid and tiny baby being the most important (also echogenic bowels, echogenic foci on heart, fluid was not clear-possible infection, and placenta hematoma).
