Gender

My DH and I are at odds. I do not want to find out the gender, but my husband adamently does. I just think there's so few surprises in life and he wants to start preparing now.

Anyone else not in agreement about finding out gender or not? And how do you plan to settle it? I suggested flipping a coin but he didn't like that idea either..

Re: Gender

  • I'd say give it a few weeks... I was Team green and DH wanted to find out. Eventually as I'm getting closer to my 18 week apt I just said, screw it lets find out this one but the next one will be a surprise.   Is this #1?

  • This is #1!! I am so scared and so excited! My husband usually goes along with what I want, but he's sticking to his guns about this one.
  • I am in your same boat, for the same reason!  There are so few POSITIVE surprises in life!  I can't wait to be surprised!  My hubby isn't adamant about finding out the gender -- he won't argue with me over it but I think if it was his choic
  • I'm almost 13 weeks and DH and I are still arguing. I'm just going to out-stubborn him.

  • The way I see it is, it will still be a surprise, you'll just be finding out sooner. I'm sure whether you find out it's a boy or girl you will be thrilled. Also, if he usually goes along with what you want, why don't you go along with what he wants on thi

  • We're going to find out. I want to be able to make the room super boyish or super girlish and I recently had to shop for a friend who didn't know the sex of her baby and it was so difficult. Everything, for the most part, is either pink or blue. It is

  • We definitely could not go the way of him finding out and I not. I feel like I can prepare for gender neutral, I actually love gender neutral stuff. I want to do the nursery like a cream colour etc.

He does also go with what I want... maybe I wi

  • Well, I think your BS call is BS. :P I wanted to be prepared...mentally!!!!

Also, I prefer being able to say "he or she" and I am super indecisive about names, so it helped me to have half of them wiped out right away.

  • I like that. Ill share it with DH and see if it sinks in for him how amazing it would be to wait.
  • We chose to find out for the same reasons as your husband. We wanted to be fully prepared.

  • I plan on finding out. I don't imagine being surprised makes seeing the baby for the first time any less special.

  • I'm driving my self crazy waiting to find out what our baby will be. I couldn't imagine waiting, y'all that decide to wait have more will power than I do. More power to ya though, it's your baby, your choice. Congrats Mommys to be!
