Can we talk Swelling?

So, my feet are starting to swell.  (This never happened with my first pregnancy( Part of me is tad concerned about pre-e but it's been remarkably hot here (it's NEVER hot here) and I was on my feet ALLLLLL weekend and I totally overdid it working in our backyard trying to get it ready for my sprinkle coming up.  So I'm pretty sure it's the heat and the yard work that is causing my feet to swell.

Question for those with swollen feet: is discomfort a normal side effect of the swelling? Did anyone have any luck with compression socks or foot soaks or anything to help relieve the discomfort and/or swelling?? 

We said "I Do" on 9/27/2008!

    as I posted earlier (and BLT added) compression stockings = heaven. My feet would get so swollen I could feel the fluid sloshing around. It was gross. I can finally see my ankles again, and its a small price to pay!

    I haven't tried compression stockings but my feet have been swelling for about a month.  Depending on how much they swell, it can be pretty uncomfortable.  I also pretty much don't wear any tight shoes anymore (boots, etc) because they tend to m

    I havent used compression socks. I just normally put my feet up when I get home. They have to be above your heart :) And I am totally uncomfortable when they are swollen - which is every night. Sometimes my toes hurt to even crack....I hope yours goes dow

    Totally normal for them to hurt. In fact the swelling causes the joints in my feet to hurt.

    And where can I buy these magical compression socks? They sound heavenly.
