Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Early risers!

Does your DS or DD take nap #1 this early? It's 7:55 am here!! He wakes every single morning between 5:55-6:30! He goes to bed between 6:30-7:30 every night so I expect him to wake early, but it makes for a LONG day! I don't mind waking up early because my DH leaves for work about 5:15! I was never a morning person until I had DS!

PS: coffee is my best friend these days :)

Re: Early risers!

  • Try pushing bedtime back.  Even 1/2 hour extra in the morning can make a big difference!

  • Yes my LO goes to bed between 6:30-7 and now she is waking around 5:45 am. I was napping her around 8:30 but now I am pushing it back to 9 am. maybe it's a mistake but I think she is the type to be awake for longer periods of time before she takes a good

  • I wonder if there's a solution to this.  DS started STTN about 2wks ago and he was going 8p-6a which I found acceptable.  But for the last few days he's been waking up at 5a instead.  That only gives him 9 hours of overnight sleep and I

  • Agree! I've tried putting him to bed between 7:30 or 8 and he STILL wakes up at the same time every morning! He's just a happy camper early riser ;) and plus a positive of him going to bed early is my DH and I get spend alone time together before our bedt
  • Awe!! I totally agree with him needing more then 9 hours of sleep! I think 11-12 hours is great sleep for a baby! (If they do that)... My DS went through a phase like that around your sons age! He stopped doing it and sleeps 10 1/2 to 12 hours every night
  • Although DS doesn't get up that early typically, I do feel your pain. I BF and I've found that to keep my supply up, I had to add a pump session at 5am. When DS gets up at 7, I've "re-filled" enough to satisfy him. It does make for a seriously long day th

  • I pumped the first couple weeks of DS life and I remember how tiring it was but BF didn't work for us! My supply sucked ;( I would seriously pump as long as I could and get 2 oz out! I was pretty much devastated that I couldn't do it so I'm jealous of you
  • Totally there with you! AND the coffee! Lol! DS wakes up at 545 no matter WHAT time I put him to bed. Which is usually 6307. I've tried pushing it back, changing naps. Nope. He'll usually take his first nap between 89 too. I figure I can handle a few hour
  • My son is on the same exact schedule.  Wakes up by 6:30 usually and no matter what is generally ready for a nap no later than 8:15.

I don't mind it so much because pushing back bedtime would mean less alone time with DH so I'll take that ove

  • I'm not wanting to change anything.. Was just wondering if there was anyone else that puts their DS or DD down for nap #1 as early as we do ;)
  • My thoughts exactly!! I usually wait 20-30 min to see if he'll fall back to sleep but it rarely happens! Lol
  • I posted about this yesterday. LO goes to bed between 9 and 10pm and wakes at 7am. I feed her and put her back in her crib and she plays for 15 to 30 min and falls back to sleep till 9 or 10am. Our LO's need lots of sleep so if your LO is waking up, even
  • He's sleeping 11-12 hours straight at night so he's getting PLENTY of sleep! His bedtime is early so he wakes early! I'm not trying to FIX this waking early... I was just asking who else has an early nap #1 with their LO's... Most babies are ready for a n
  • Honestly, none of these sound too bad.  DD goes to bed at 9 (pushed back this week) and usu gets up 5:45-6:30 (typically closer to 5:45).  Of course, after she goes to bed at 9, I have to sign on and work remotely 'til 10ish or a bit after, then

  • I've never been a morning person either, so I feel your pain. DS just started sleeping through the night last week, he goes down between 7:30 and 8:30, and wakes up between 5 and 6, and I usually get up and feed him and just put him back down and go back
