Hi. My nanny is old school and likes to pump babies full of milk so they go to sleep. However my supply has proven to be pretty inflexible. Five ounces, 3 times a day. I only have LO at the nanny for 4-5 hours, but she goes through three 5 oz. bottles (especially on the days she has more kids). She keeps saying, "He takes it," and I keep saying, "He'll take whatever you give him, but he only needs 5 oz, b/c that's all he's getting from me."
I've already explained to her that I pump as much as he needs and I often only pump once during the time that he's with her depending on when I fed him last. Never have I pumped 3 times in 5 hours. She was better for awhile, but then again today - she goes through 3 milks on her "busy" day. That will leave my husband with 2 tomorrow for five hours. Thankfully, LO has been sleeping 7 to 7, so two will likely get him through and I will also get up in the middle of the night and pump. Which makes me worry that I'll pump and he'll wake up an hour later.
This is constant stress. I'm always checking to see how much we have, when he ate last, and if I have time to pump before he eats next. It's always seemed to work out, but I'm terrified that one day - it won't. So am I freaking out myself out (admittedly I am a FTM) or do I need to go to the mattresses with my nanny?
Or alternatively, do I just give her 2 milks? I'd like to give her 3 "just in case," but she does have a freezer stash for emergencies. And I'm pretty sure that each of her busy days will constitute an emergency.
To clarify: I pump 5 ounces, 3 times a day. I feed him myself 2-3 times outside of that.

Yes, my MIL does it, too for the exact same reasons. He only cries when he's bored, tired, or hungry, but her only remedy is to feed him. I suppose I should be thankful that my nanny and my MIL never watch him on the same days.

Your baby, your call! I would give her a printed schedule of approximately when LO should be fed and how much LO should get at each feeding. If she still refuses to follow it, I'd honestly tell her that it's not working out and you wi
