STM-where are your kids staying?

I had a csec. With dd1 it was a disaster. She ended up going to my parents one night, my sil the next ( disaster) and staying home w/ mil the next ( she lives with us but that is NOT happening again.)  Mike stayed in the hospital with me.

This time I want the girls to stay with my mom the entire time, or have Mike stay home with them.

What are your plans?

Re: STM-where are your kids staying?

  • My MIL and FIL will probably take care of DS, but he'll sleep here at home. I sent DH home last time to sleep, as our hospital has pretty atrocious accommodations for partners (it's just a mat on the floor of the room, and I had a shared room).

  • My mom will come and stay with them; DH will stay with me and the new baby.

It is possible my mil will arrive before baby girl does. In that case, she will stay with the kiddos at night and my mom will visit them during the day.

  • They will be with us during L&D (as long as it's during the day) and then DH will take them home and stay with them.  They can follow their normal schedule as much as possible.

  • I have no flipping clue. We are moving in late June, but don't know where yet. We have a few friends that we trust here, but DD's grandparents all live 4+ hours away. DH's aunt lives kind-of close by, but she is far from my first choice.

My parents and in-laws with each take a day and a half but the kids will stay at our house so they have the comforts of home. I trust both sets but it's nice to have them at our house so they have some "normalcy". Our hospital re-did their maternity fl

  • DD will stay at home my home with my dad, my aunt and my brother interchanging. DH will be at the hospital sometimes, but home sometimes so that DD's life stays somewhat normal while I'm gone.

That said, I am going to miss the crap out of my DD

  • My kids will be staying with my Mom and Stepdad. Our hospital is about 35 mintues from our house, add on 20 more minutes to get to Mom's house. They will bring them once a day to visit while we are there. H will stay with me.

  • I plan on my mom taking DS so DH can stay with me in the hospital. Mom will take DS up to see us during the day. My house is right around the corner from my mom so she will stay at my house.

  • My son will be at my parent's house until I leave the hospital. He has a bed there and sleeps there on the weekends sometimes when DH and I have a date night.  My parents know how to care for him the way I would so I know that I wont worry about him.

  • Well the plan is for hubby to stay home at night with them. The baby will be coming right around when the kids go back to school so I do not want to mess up their routine.

If that fails- my dad and step mom live like 2 miles from me

Our very good friend whose kids went to the same daycare ours go to now (she is also godmother to our youngest) comes over if it happens in the m

  • If I am in labor late at night / overnight DD will stay with my sister or my MIL will come to my house.  Otherwise DH will be at home with her.

  • The IL's will come stay at our house, but if I go early, it could end up being my SIL or my dad and/or his wife.  In any situation, the boys will be at our house and someone will be coming to stay with them.

  • We haven't formed a plan for a middle of the night trip to L&D yet, but I hope to have someone stay with DS here.   I assume DH will go back and forth, but spend at least the first night with me.

  • My parents are coming to stay with DS while I'm in the hospital.  My mom might stay a few nights once I get home depending on how things are going.

  • It depends on when I go into labor.  My parents are 2 hours away and my in-laws are 3.5 hours away.  Our daycare will keep him (small in-home one and that is a perk they offer their parents) if no family is able to get down here in time.  I

  • DS will most likely stay with my parents.  In a perfect world, we will call my mom when I'm in labor and she'll come pick up DS and bring him to her house (unless it's the middle of the night, and I'm guessing she'd just stay at our house until th

  • Totally depends on when this kiddo plans on making an appearance.

DD was born at 7:50pm and DH didn't want to leave that first night. If this LO's timing is the same DD will stay either with my sister or my parent's for that first night onl

  • My Son will either be staying with SIL or my grandma (His great grandma) We don't know yet.... but more likely that he'll stay with SIL since she's only 3 mins away from us. However the hospital is 45 mins away from us and my grandma only lives 10 mins

  • All of our family is too far away to be able to travel that short notice.  There are a couple of teachers from DD's daycare who she loves and I'm praying that one of them is willing to be an on-call babysitter.  We would only use the teacher as
