My lo's breath stinks. He refuses to let me brush his teeth with a finger brush. Today I fought him to wipe his tongue with a cloth. Any kid friendly toothbrushes to use?
I had a similar issue with my girls. We bought them regular baby tooth brushes that they can use themselves. I put a little tooth paste on them and do the best brushing job I can and then let them chew on the tooth brushes, but they have to sit on the floor. If they start to walk away with them then they lose it. I usually give them a few minutes to chew on the tooth brushes. For us it seems like it makes it easier for me to actually brush their teeth now because they know afterwards they get to play with them and they really love doing that.
We just use a regular toddler toothbrush. I think the ones we have are Crest and GUM. I like the GUM one better because it is softer. The reason for having two is that I use one to actually brush while DD is distracted by holding/playing with the other one.
No advice but my DD 's breath stinks too! The only thing that we have found to get her to let us effectively brush her teeth is for my DH to hold her upside down and tickle her and make a big game out of it while I go in there with the finger toothbrush. God, I hope we are not still doing it when she is a teenager.
LO loves having his teeth brushed. We have the toddler training Thomas toothbrush. Honestly, I make up silly songs and will do funny voices while we brush, and he loves music, so I think that helps a lot. He requests his teeth to be brushed when he walks in the bathroom.
After meals we use a baby toothbrush and a spot of toothpaste and after I brush them he gets to chew on it... this is while still in his high chair for safety reasons. I started giving him an adult soft bristle brush to chew on after I am done because he was chewing holes in the rubber handles on the baby ones.
He is teething and breaking in a bunch of new back teeth so he is chewing on EVERYTHING.
