Moby/wraps & bathroom breaks lol

So today I mastered using the Moby with DD, but now I'm wondering something.. when you are out and about, you don't normally wear baby AND carry the infant car seat/stroller with you do you? So, when you have to go to the bathroom, do you just keep baby wrapped onto you? Or is there a trick I don't know about?? Haven't tried it, but wondering what everyone does lol

Yes, I go to the bathroom with the baby still strapped to me (and I'm just careful not to touch him until after I've washed my hands).   It's awkward, but doable.  When I was on maternity leave and DS was still small and slept all day in the Moby, I even went to the bathroom with him strapped to me when I was home.

FYI - I found that the Moby was much more conducive to bathroom breaks than the Ergo.  The waist strap of the Ergo makes it harder for me to sit on the toilet.

  • Another vote for leaving the moby on and going to the bathroom.  It was actually much easier to go to the bathroom before he was mobile and I could just wear him.  Now I spend bathroom time when we're out trying to get him not to crawl on the floor, stick his hand in the toilet, grab all the toilet paper......

  • Pee with them strapped to you! It does take a bit of finesse, hee hee.

  • Yep, same as all pp, just go with the baby attached.  I have flown 4 times alone with DD, all wearing her either in the moby or boba, and take trips into the bathroom with her.  I've gotten some pretty strange looks coming out of the stall with her, but I'm not about to set her on the bathroom floor (gross!).  Maybe practice at home before venturing out by yourself to get the hang of it, but it's actually pretty easy.

  • Ditto. Stick out tongue  It's really not that much harder than peeing 9+ months pregnant, IMO.

  • I didn't have a Moby, but wore DS in a BabyHawk when he was little. I found that it was easier for me to sit on the toilet backwards; sometimes you have to get a little creative. Smile

  • Definitely pee wearing the baby.

My DH pooped while wearing the baby and didn't realize that the tails were dangling into the toilet bowl. THAT was one of our finest parenting moments to date!

I tried going with them on me at home before I did out and about.  Figured out how to make them all work.
