XP Formula for Mixing Purees?

Hi! DS #2 is almost 5 months and we're beginning to think about solids (homemade). With DS #1, I just mixed everything with breast milk. I ended up having to use my stash with DS #1 earlier than I wanted and I wished I hadn't "wasted" milk mixing with purees. I still have a large stash with DS #2, but I was thinking about using formula from samples that we have. Anyone do this? Brands to use or avoid? I've never used any formula before with either boy so I'm clueless! Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

  • I am over pumping so I supplement with Gerber Soothe. I have mixed that into the sweet potatoes I made because they were a little thick. They came out creamier and she liked them. I tasted it and it was fine.

  • Have you thought about mixing with water? All the recipes I have found so far say you can thin with breast milk, formula, or water

  • If you want to use formula I would get a small container of a cheap generic brand. Or use water.
