transition from RnP to crib

So my Mr. Mason is 3 and half months now and were trying to transition him from his rock n play in our room to the crib in the nursery. So far it's a nightmare. He is also teething which doesn't help anything. 

I have been trying some cuddle time to get him ready for his nap or bedtime and that gets him sleepy. When he is almost asleep I put him in the crib. He will usually lay there for a couple minutes and then start crying with this squeal. I try to just leave him in hopes that he will fall asleep but it is so hard. Any advice on how to make this a smoother transition?

    We did this in a couple steps.  At about 3 1/2 months we moved DD from RnP in our room to RnP in nursery.  Then after about 2 weeks we moved her into the crib.  We also lost the swaddle at the same time and put her in Merlin suit.

    We are doing the same thing. Lots of gentle tummy rubbing, shushing, and perserverence. We're also using the Merlin sleep suit which I think is helping; it's obviously muffling his jerky movements quite a bit.
