Induction.. What!?

I had my 39 wk apt today and my Dr asked if I had ever thought about induction. Nope. I figure LO would get here when she was good and ready.  Apparently last week when the Dr checked me everything was locked up tight and gave no signs of labor.  She felt the same way this week. 

So if LO isn't trying to escape by next Tuesday H and I have to make the decision about when we want to induce.  I didn't want to pick the birthday, I wanted a surprise. NOT that I am upset - labor (still) freaks me out and I kind of like the idea that LO was going to push me into it and not the other way around.

Either way this baby will be here before 5/14. They won't let me go past that date.

    That is a tough decision to make!  Hopefully, you progress more this week and/or your LO decides to show.  Just remember, a lot of moms go into their 41 week - you still have time!

    My midwife didn't bring up induction really with DD until my 41 week appointment and at that point just said, "Well, you can pretty much schedule the baby whenever at this point...you can come in tonight if you want." Um, say what?!

    My doctor has pretty much told me that she will not induce until I am 10 days past my due date. But the other girls are right---you still have some time. Hopefully you can go on your own.

    I was scared of an induction too... DD1's water broke so she picked her date but this time I was induced and honestly it was nice. Even DH who was flat against it at first agreed it made it easier knowing the date that was coming. And you could always pic

    I would wait. If you can make it to 41 weeks, I think if you want to induce the, go for it. Baby has a lot of time to come. My OB induces between 41-42 weeks, so I think that is pretty standard.

    There must be something I'm missing because I was locked up like fort knox with DS 6 years ago at 41 weeks, not a single contraction ever, no effacing, no dilation AT ALL!  They absolutely would not induce me because they said I probably would hav

    This could change tomorrow or next week.  You can also do things at home to encourage labor like sex, evening primrose oil, and last resort castor oil.  You can look up some other things too!
