Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

What time is bedtime?

Along the lines of schedules...what time does your little one hit the hay?  I know all babies are different, but when we tell folks our 12.5 month old daughter goes to bed between 8:45-9pm - we get looks.  Tell me about your toddler!  Thanks!

DD is almost 2 and bedtime is between 7-7:30pm.  She sleeps at night for 11.5-12 hours and has a 1.5-2hour nap.

8:45 -9pm seems late to me but it depends on what time she wakes up.

  • Our son has been going to bed between 8:30 and 9 since he dropped his second nap, before that he was going to bed much closer to 10pm.
  • Usually at 8pm.  We are usually up at 6:30 in the morning to get ready for daycare/work.
After 2 years of TTC, our daughter was born on Oct 31, 2011!

  • Depends on the day for us. Weeknights usually 8-8:45. Weekends, she's up until 9:30 sometimes. It also depends on if she needs a 2nd nap. 2nd nap=later bed time for us and that usually happens on the weekends only.

  • 6:30ish- wakes up (7ish on the weekend)

    7:45- Bedtime

When DD was 12.5 months, she was still on two naps (9am and 1pm). Bedtime back then was 7 or 7:30.

  • My LO goes down between 8 and 9. It's verging on the later end of the spectrum now that it's getting dark later.

  • It used to be around 7:30, but since they have started to do more (crawling, and moving around more), bedtime is now like 8:30pm! We do try to do a little earlier, but they seem to be handling it well.
  • Ah, gotta love "the looks." DS is asleep around 9. He only takes 1 nap from about noon until 2ish. But if we put him to bed any earlier than 9 hes up 1-2 times a night. Dont know why, its just always been that way.

  • 7p.

But we have to be up between 6-7a during the week, so he needs to be in bed early enough to get adequate sleep. If we could sleep in later then we'd have a later bedtime.

So long as your LO gets sufficient rest, what difference does th

My 12.5 month old is usually down around 7:30 p.m.  It might be a bit closer to 8 p.m. if her afternoon nap is longer or later than usual.  She's up around 6:30 a.m.  If your daughter is getting adequate sleep and that schedule works well f

  • DS sleeps from 7:15pm - 7am.  Since he has to be up by 7am to go to daycare, he has to be in bed early to get all the sleep that he needs. He isn't a very good napper at daycare (1 hour), so maybe if he took better naps he'd be able to go to

  • He usually goes to bed at 8, and is up between 7 and 8.

  • DS is 3 and goes to bed at 9. He's gone to bed at that time for almost 2 years. He's still usually up by 7. He's an early bird.

DD is 21 months and goes to bed at 8:15. She's usually up by 8.

    Both take good afternoon naps.

  • Sometime between 7:30 and 8, depending on what time we do dinner and how long bath takes.

  • My nearly 14 month old son goes to bed sometime between 6:30 and 7:30.  I am a lot less strict with it all since he's our 2nd and he shares a room with his 3yr old sister.

  • Don't feel bad about the late bedtime.  A friend of mine has a son a couple months younger than DS who goes to bed closer to 10pm.  He, however, sleeps in until 10am.  My friend is a SAHM, so it's NBD to her family.

  • 7:30 pm for my 19 month old but that's so he can get enough sleep before we have to get up, and leave for work and take him to daycare. If I stayed home with him I wouldn't necessarily put him to bed that early.

  • DD's bedtime has been between 7 and 7:30pm for as long as I can remember.  She sleeps til 7-8am and is now down to just one nap (~12:30-2:30) at 17 months.

You can't win the bedtime game.  We get "the look" from DH's family all the time
