Just curious when people started to reach a point where they could go longer between feedings during the day time. At night, my 6 week old consistently sleeping 5-6 hours without waking, and when she does wake she eats for 10-15 minutes per side and goes right back to sleep for 3-4 more hours. However, during the day it's as though she just "snacks" all day instead of eating enough to be satisfied for more than an hour. If she's nursed for 30-40 minutes and I take her off the breast she roots as though she is still hungry and cries until she nurses again.
I went back to work two weeks ago and when she takes a bottle of breastmilk from my husband she'll be fine for 2-3 hours between feedings. My guess is that it's easier for her to eat from the bottle and when she has to work for it more on the breast she gets tired and slows down, so she doesn't feel "full" as easy. Does this happen to everyone? Can I look forward to a day down the road when I'll be able to go 2-3 hours between feedings?
