Breastfeeding

10 months in...When to stop pumping?

LO is going to be 11 months on May 8th, and is still breastfed. I am also still pumping during the day while I'm at work and he mainly goes to the babysitter with 2- 5 oz. bottles of breastmilk and solid foods/snacks. I know once they reach a year, I can introduce cow's milk- however, I still want to continue to breastfeed until he weans. My question is, when is it practical to stop pumping? I don't have a large freezer stash to make up for not pumping, so is it best if I continue to pump until LO is 1 and can drink cow's milk? I would still nurse on demand at home. I'm curious as to what other moms have done. Thanks!

  • It really depends on your stash.  I had an okay stash of freezer milk, but I wanted to make sure he stayed on BM until one (which it sounds like you want to do too).  So I started weaning from the pump once he turned 1.  I dropped one pumpi
