Trying to Get Pregnant

Following instructions is hard, yo

With all the post asking simple questions that can be found on the instructions of the OPK or HPT got me thinking...

Do you always follow instructions?  What a is the one (not TTC related) thing you do that you say "fluck the instructions" before you start?

Mine is making banana bread.  I just throw roughly what I think belongs in the loaf and go from there.  Sometime is comes out as a lovely banana bread other times it is a banana brick.   I am a real whiz in the kitchen :P

  • I'm snowballing off that and saying Cooking. I'll see what the recipe is, then change it up to what or how I want it. I love to cook and making it my own is fun.

  • I arely read instructions in general.

I almost always "wing it" when I do a recipe, and to this day, I've always freely put together IKEA furniture.

  • I guess I'm kind of a nerd.  When I put things together I have to read all of the instructions before I start, and then I follow them closely as I go along.

A couple years ago I made banana bread after I got home from a night shift.

  • Cooking, def. I usually start with a recipe, but if it turns into something we make regularly, I start making it up myself until I eff it up enough that I have to go back to the recipe and see what I changed over time.

  • I would say when it comes to putting things together, like furniture from Ikea or something like that.  I usually just start doing stuff and only go back to look at the directions after I get stuck or realize I'm not on the right track.

  • Definitely cooking. I follow the recipe when baking, but I throw caution to the wind with normal food.

And I never wash, rinse, and repeat. I just wash and rinse, cause I'm hardcore like that.

  • I'm going to have to say cooking as well.  If something calls for "2 tbsps" of whatever, I throw in what appears to me to be 2 tbsps, but could, in reality, be much more or less.

  • My mandoline. I never use the food guard thing. I KNOW I KNOW it's a great way to lose a finger, and yeah there have been a few salads with a little extra iron... but it's so cumbersome and doesn't hold the food, and then you can only cut up half of it.

  • I honestly think the only thing I read instructions to is the children's medications and that's just so I don't overdose my kids : ) All other instructions hit the trash once they come in our house, I hate hanging onto useless things.

  • FTR though, I would never call/ write a email / *** on the interwebz about something I did not read the instructions.

When I'm stuck, I'll go and read and will do whatever it takes to find the answers myself (You know that Google thing?)
