December 2010 Moms

Ok just curious...

My DD is convinced that this baby is a girl. She is 28 months... how she even knows the difference between "baby sister" and "baby brother" beats me... Anyways, we took her and my parents for a 3D ultrasound, and DD first thing goes & points... "baby sister!!! cute cute!!! sister!!!" So the next day she is looking at the pics and said "baby sister" again! I was like what about baby brother? she siad "no! baby sister!" I was just in shock. About the same week we conceived DD said "baby sister" we just looked at each other and said, wow that was out of no where! considering I wasn't even "pregnant" yet. ... now we should be finding out within the next month.

But I am curious how many others had the older sibling just know? Or were they wrong? Kids are sensitive. Of course I am not out buying pink off of DDs stubborness, I am just curious!

Re: Ok just curious...

  • I don't remember asking DD (who was 6 at the time) what she thought DS was until a week before he was born. Then I remember her answer so clearly: If you ask me what I WANT the baby to be, the answer is a girl. If you ask me what I THINK the baby is go

  • Kids are so sensitive to these kinds of things.. its weird! haha

I never asked DD that was the weird part. Came out all on her own! haha

  • Have you seen that new study that said you can predict sex based on the location of the placenta in early ultrasounds?  If you plan on finding out the sex, you should look it up and see if it says girl.  Apparently, it's pretty accurate!

Before I was pregnant (also around the time we conceived), she pointed at a big brother walking with his mom and dad and little b

  • When we ask LO, she used to just say whatever we said last, in typical toddler fashion. So, if we said "are you going to have a sister or brother?" the answer would be brother.

However, now she says brother all the time no matter what order we s

  • Ava had no opinion. Before the baby was born, I asked her what her baby sisters name was going to be. Once she informed me it would be Elmo and once she told me her name would be "surprise".
