Baby shaking in utero?

So, for the past month or so, I have been experiencing what feels like the baby shaking in utero.  It happens probably every day, usually when I'm sitting and relaxing.  It feels almost like what I would imagine a seizure like movement would feel like.  It happens for about 10 seconds, then stops for a few seconds, then starts again for a few seconds, then stops again.  My belly looks like it's having a tremor or spasm when this happens.

Anyone experience anything similar?

  • Yup, I've noticed this too. It used to happen a lot, but it's tapered off to him just stretching out. That's exactly how I'd describe the movements too. No clue what it means - I haven't come across anything stating it's a warning sign for anything advers

  • Had it with dd, but not this one. I'm not sure what it is though!
  • I have that too. Almost feels like a vibration sensation. Weird. I think I had that last time.
  • I had it with dd. I asked the midwife if it was seizures she said she doubted it but even if it was there was nothing she could do and the baby was in the best possible place. This is no help but dd was fine.

  • My lo does the same thing and it's been happening for about a month now.
  • It is very possible that it's just your uterus spasming, and not the baby itself shaking. Remember that the uterus is a muscle, and is as prone to spasms as any other muscle in your body - maybe more so with what it is currently doing.

  • I've been having the same thing and googled it a few weeks back. One mom said after her baby was born she noticed he would stretch and while he was stretching his feet and fists would do that little shimmy/shake thing at the end. She said that was when

  • I am so glad to read that others have this issue. It first appeared for me around 28 weeks and lasted on and off for about 3 weeks. Now I am 39 weeks and I began feeling it again. I've asked the midwife, doctors and nurse practitioners all say it's nothing to worry about (but it's my first pregnancy and clearly I worry) I took salvation when my gf said her LO did it too and he's perfectly fine!
