Babies: 6 - 9 Months

How can I get him to sleep later??

DS was really good at sleeping in the morning.  He'd go down about 7:30pm-ish and slept until 7 or 7:30am.  He went through a 6 month growth spurt about a month ago and ever since then, he's been getting up about 5:45am.  I'm so tired and so is he.  I can't let him fuss too long to put himself back to sleep b/c he'll wake up my DD.

I've tried putting him down for bed earlier at night, but it's hard b/c DH works late and I put both kids down by myself.  I have to give them dinner, do baths, and bedtime everynight by myself.  I'm so tired...help, please!

  • My kid is an early riser too so I feel your pain! I've just gone along with it because he sleeps all night, so I'm afraid to mess around with his schedule too much.

Would it be possible to put your DS down for bed first and then do your DD's b

  • Unfortunately it's just the way some kids are wired.  My kid's wake up time has zero to do with what time he goes to bed.  It sucks but they've got their own clock.

  • I would accept it if that was the time he got up from the getgo, but this happened since his growth spurt. And he's exhausted! I know he's not quite ready to get up b/c he's pissed at the world. When he gets enough sleep, he wakes up happy. I hope this p

  • My LO is the same way and the time change didn't help.  She gets up at 630 on the weekends but if I give her a bottle she goes right back down thank goodness.  I really don't think there is anything that you can do to get him to sleep in later.&
