A response to an earlier post today got me thinking is my milk lower in calories because I pump about 50 to 60 oz per day? I'm feeding triplets, I pump every 2 or 3 hours round the clock. I try to eat lots of olive oil or avocado and almonds but my fat layer in each 6 0z bottle is thin. Am I hurting my caloric content by having a large supply? I've never heard of this, and have consulted with 2 LC so far. TIA!

Re: Does lots of milk always mean low calorie milk?
My LC gave me a book called Exclusively Pumping Breast Milk: A Guide to Providing Expressed Breast Milk for Your Baby and in it states that on should not pump more than 50 ounces a day since anymore above and beyond that begins to dilute your milk. How
I had a huge oversupply when I EPed with DS#1. I pumped 50-60oz/day. He was always a chubby little guy. He was always 95% for height, 50-60th for weight. Now at 2.5yo he is wearing 4t shirts, 3t bottoms. I think he grew just fine lol.
