Sticking to schedule?

LO is sleeping a lot during the day... After reading the posts below I think I'm gathering she's going through her 6 week growth spurt (she'll be 6 weeks tomorrow). Because she is colic I have found putting her on a (although somewhat flexible) schedule where I try to not let her sleep past 4PM, mommy & baby yoga at 5:30PM or 6PM, bath time at 7-7:30PM, feeding at 8ish, rocking/burping, then bed time. She is sleeping through yoga time into bath time off and on... Should I wake her and just keep to our schedule or should I just let her sleep?

I agree, let LO do what she wants at this point. We've been lucky with DS in that he made a schedule and has kept it within an hour either way. It's pretty easy for me to schedule outings and visits.

  • I sometimes wake dd for a feeding during the day if she's sleeping past 3 hours or so, but I've never tried to keep her up. If she goes to sleep after her feeding I just let her sleep. Just a thought!

  • Let her sleep. That's a really long time for a 6 week old to be up. Most babies that age shouldn't be up for longer than about 1.5 hours at a time or they will get overtired.
