PT 2 1/2 yr old...fat pad hides his "part"

We are potty training my little man but b/c his fat pad hides his "bird" as we call it LOL  its so hard to get him on the seat, legs spread and back far enough so he doesnt go all over the place. He's into the real seat rather then the toddler ones so we've kind of just stuck w/ that. Any ideas out there, it makes PT a PIA when we are out b/c i really cringe having to get him up on the seat so far back...

    I'm not quite sure I understand the issue, but you could try having him sit backwards on the toilet. Some kids feel more stable that way and get a better angle.

    I think it's funny personally. I call my daughter's vagina a hoo-ha.

    My mom used to call my little brothers penis a bird lol.  I'm trying to call DS1s penis a penis so he knows the correct word but sometimes DH calls it a peepee.  lol

    I wanted to reply cause DS1 has a fat pad that still sucks in his penis and we just started to PT.  We tried using the real toilet but with a potty ring, and this potty ring has a cup kinda thing in front for boys so the penis/pee doesn't just go forwards and spray forwards.  Could you try that?  I'm having more success with a potty, though, which also has that cuppy thingy infront.  GL!

    I was going to recommend the seat with the shield on it too. We hold DS like a board and position him to where he can pee right over the toilet, if that makes sense. If it's in a clean store/bathroom, I will double line the seat.

    My DS scoots back, angles his body forward, and pushes his penis down. It's taken him a little while to figure that all out! We bought the toilet "family seats" from Home Depot that have the built-in kids ring that hides in the normal lid. Totally recommend those!
