Horrible day

I had my MFM appt today and she found an EIF on Lo's left ventricle which is a marker for down's. Also the bowel is bright which she originally thought was from Lo drinking blood from all the bleeding I have had but now she is not sure. Also the Free Fetal DNA test still is not back (this is the third time I had to have it) which would tell us about the Down;s so now the MFM said we will prob have to do an amnio but she is nervous because I am at a much higher risk of m/c because of all the complications and bleeding with this pg. So I asked if we could do the Quad screen in the meantime and she said no that it didn't make sense we should just wait for the other test. Also I asked if the Free Cell doesn't come back again what do we do then and she said we could do the quad or just go straight to Amnio.

I realized in the car on the way home that I wanted my reg OB to do the Amnio if I have to have it so I called and she can only do it next Tuesday, so she booked it and we will cancel if we get other answers. I also talked to my PCP and she insisted I go to the OB and have the quad screen today because she said there is no point in stressing if we can't get the Free Cell back. So now I am waiting for the Quad Screen and Free Cell DNA and contemplating what to do about the Amnio.

Also I have a new SCH. 

I am heart broken because we have come so far and I thought stupidly things would get a little easier from here. What would be your stipulations for doing the Amnio?

    both measuring right on track....2nd u/s... all is well... both beans measuring right on track... released from RE... first
    appointment with MFM 1/5.  Looks like this is really happening!

    I'm so sorry. If you decide to move forward with the Amnio, I would find out if the MFM or OB does them more frequently. You want the most experienced physician doing the test to reduce your risk of m/c. ((hugs))

    I'm so sorry you're going through this.  

    If the free cell DNA comes back inconclusive again, I would probably do an amnio.  Do you know when you're supposed to have results back from this test?  FX that comes back as negative and

    TTC #1 7/10, Me (31)- Dx DOR (AMH 0.6); DH (30)- normal
    BFP on Cycle #8. Natural M/C at ~8 weeks
    IUI #1 and #2 (8/12, 9/12)- 50 mg Clomid + Ovidrel = BFNs
    IVF #1 (EPP) 13R/10M/9F, 5DT 1-4AA blast, beta #1-148, beta #2-322, 5 frosties!

    Hoping your SCH resolves itself as well, and doesn't cause any more complications for you.

    HSG: Right tube all clear, left tube inconclusive
    3 failed Clomid Cylces
    4/5 lap revealed blocked left tube, but right tube is open
    April/May- 50 mg Clomid + Ovidrel + IUI #1= CANCELLED left ovary ovulating
    June 1- 100 mg Clomid + Ovidrel + IUI #1 = BFN
    June 28- 100 mg Clomid + Ovidrel + IUI #2 =BFP!
    7/12 Beta #1= 14 Beta #2= >5 Chemical Pregnancy :(
    July-Nov long break to recover emotionally and financially
    Nov 24- 100 mg Clomid + Ovidrel + IUI #3= BFN

    No advice but the biggest HUGS to you right now.

    Multiple ectopics, 2 failed IVF's
    IVF #1: Did not get to ET, embies all failed PGD (major chromosomal defects)
    IVF #2: We have 2 chromosomally perfect embies as a result of PGD (Boy/Girl) 1 failed the thaw (Girl) Transferred 1, yet ended as a c/p
    Thought it was the end of our TTC Journey 6/20/2012
    SHOCK BFP 9/28/2012: IT'S A BOY! and everything is normal !!!!!!

    Little A born 38w 2d on 05/23/13 and is a true miracle for this IF Vet!

    I think you should wait for the fetal DNA testing to come back. I am sorry it has been taking a long time/there have been complications in getting reliable results. That is really annoying. It just seems like the amnio is not going to tell you any more

    IUIs #1-3 (1x unmedicated, 2x Clomid) = 2 BFNs, 1 m/c at 7w3d
    IUIs #4-6 (injects) = 3 BFNs
    IVF #1 = BFN
    FET #1 = BFN
    FET #2 = BFN

    I would so skip the amnio... They found an EFI at my 20 wk, but doc said not to worry because there were no other markers. Honestly, I'd rather have a downs baby than lose another pg. Soooo not worth the risk for me. I didn't even bother with first tri

    I would be very cautious about having the amnio.  The risk of m/c due to amnio makes me uncomfortable already and then with your increased risk, I'm not sure I would do it if I were you.  You are 16  weeks, what about waiting until your ana

    To Gregermis' point, whether or not you do the amnio will depend on what you are going to do with the info. If you would consider terminating for downs or other chromosomal issues, then it may be worth the risk to find out for sure (or it may not be, t
