Turning blue tantrum?

Please tell me I'm not the only one whose kid has done this! Tonight I gave Nate dinner and apparently whatever was on his plate was offensive. There was screaming about no milk, no water and throwing of the cups. He ate the blackberries but then started screaming his head off. He usually loves salmon and rice, but I guess not tonight. He started screaming so hard he actually turned purple. I got him down and tried to calm him down, but he kept screaming. The kid screamed for literally 30 minutes and was PURPLE, and not just his face. His arms and legs turned bright red too. I thought for sure he was going to pass out. Everything I did, like trying to hug him, seemed to piss him off more. Eventually he calmed down when I turned on kids' videos on YouTube. I was about to freak out and go get my neighbor, who has 5 kids of her own, to see if she knew what to do! Has anyone else's kid ever screamed so much they were turning colors and what did you do???

J doesn't turn blue but he makes himself nearly throw up when he has a tantrum.

Alexander's lips turn blue when he is holding his breath for that huuuuuge scream.

My cousin used to cry so hard that he would hold his breath and pass out. It freaked all of us out, but his mom (who was a nurse) never seemed concerned. I don't remember what age he grew out of it.
