DD is 21mo old. For the past 3 nights she's been coughing on and off all night long. She does not cough at all during the day, not during exercise, and not even during her afternoon nap. We suck her nose before bedtime and there is nothing there so we're not sure it's even post-nasal drip from allergies. We run her humidifier at night on full blast and I've even put baby vicks on her chest and feet. We have tried cooler temperatures in her room and also warmer temps; neither seems to be the issue. We also give her a bedtime water cup to help if her throat is dry when she wakes up. And lastly we raised her toddler bed mattress by putting a blanket under it. Nothing seems to work and she's losing sleep (she's always been a great sleeper) and it is starting to affect her during the daytime. She is getting overly tired and grouchy and I'm worried it may throw off her schedule.
Would love some home remedies or tips that some of you have come across to get rid of the nighttime cough. Thanks!
Re: Desperate for remedies for a nighttime cough
We are going through the same thing! Do you all happen to use a nebulizer? We have one "as needed" for wheezing, but when I called our pedi to talk about the coughing from the last two days, she suggested we up the nebulizer treatments. We did that yes
Try Vic's on her feet and then put on socks. I don't know why this works, but it always has for my kids and it was a tip I got a long time ago. It's so hard when no one is sleeping, I hope she feel better soon:)

I believe that Hyland's also makes a cough syrup for the under two crowd. I bought it but haven't tried it yet so I can't tell you if it works. But their Tiny Cold Tablets work great for my DD when she has a runny nose.
