Baby measuring 2 weeks behind... scared!

Last Friday I went in for my regular ob check up, and when my doctor measured my belly it was at 35 cm, but I was at 37 weeks.  The week before I measured at at 35 as well.  My doctor ordered an ultrasound for this morning to check and make sure baby is growing properly.  He told me that baby was measuring consistently at 35 weeks and 4 days, and today I am 37 weeks and 2 days.  He told me not to be overly concerned and that the doctor would follow up with my at my appointment this Friday if nothing was found urgent.  Naturally, I do worry!  At my 20 week ultrasound, the tech told me baby was measuring larger and a few days ahead, and my belly measured spot on (even one week ahead) at one point up until two weeks ago... it's as if he just quit growing!  I'm wondering if anyone else has gone though (or is going through) something similar and what the outcome was/is?

  • I think that this can be completly OK and often intervention is needed.

I am measuring 2 weeks+ behind and have been diagnosed with IUGR. I have to eat a lot more calories in the next 2 weeks and if LO does not put on enough weight they will indu

  • My DD measured behind towards the end-she was/is fine, just a bit small.  Currently I am measuring close to 5 weeks behind, did the growth scan and baby is measuring pretty close to right on.

  • They told me my baby was measuring small too but when I delivered she was over 8 pounds and in the 95% for height. So clearly someone didn't know what they were talking about. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Its all an estimation anyway.

  • My doctor told me that the rule is that its normal to be ahead or behind 1-2 weeks. I was 2 weeks behind at 23 and 27 weeks and she wasn't concerned.
  • I measured 33 at both my 32 and 34 week appointments, so no change in 2 weeks. I am gaining weight, and doctor is not at all concerned. Ultrasounds can be way off as well, so I wouldn't worry about that either. Last pregnancy mine at 38 weeks said under 7
  • I'm not as far along as you, I'm only 34 weeks but at 31 weeks I was measuring 5 weeks behind.  The growth ultrasound showed that baby's only about 1 week behind and for some reason my uterus hasn't been growing much but baby's still been growing

  • The stomach measurements are not very accurate.  I'm 40 weeks now and I have measured 37 for the past 3 weeks.  About 6 weeks ago something similar happened, I may have even measured smaller the second week.  I was sent for ultrasounds both
  • I am going through something like that. Baby was measuring ahead until near 30 weeks or so and then dropped off. I now get weekly ultrasounds and NSTs. I should have had them earlier but my previous doctor missed a few things.

  • I was diagnosed with IUGR at 25 weeks. At 37 weeks baby measured 4lbs 14oz / 12oz which was below the third percentile. My measurements haven't moved passed 35 weeks. We have had weekly NSTs, biophysicals, and dopplers since 34 wks. At this point baby i

  • I had the same exact thing happen to me last week- baby was right on track, and suddenly measured 2 weeks behind. I scheduled a growth scan- and everything was great. Baby is measuring in the 39th percentile, and AF looked good, as well as development

  • I've been measuring 1-2 weeks behind the whole time. The ultrasound techs, my OB and my perinatologist have all told me that it is considered "normal." She has dropped in percentile along the way too and they still assure me that she is ok. It sounds like
