Ahh, this has been the week of toddler tantrums! We're coming off a week at my parents' house, where DS had constant attention from 4 different people. I knew this week would be rocky. But he's added a new element to his tantrum routine: hitting himself in the side of the head. It's never hard, but still worries me. I can tell he's just getting very frustrated and doesn't know how to handle it. He knows the concept of 'gentle', but that hasn't been helping. Any tips on how to redirect his frustration?

Re: Dealing with frustration
Booo - I hope this is just a phase and that he grows out of it quickly. I haven't had to deal with that kind of behaviour but I have a friend whose DS is a self-hitter and what she's done is she's taught him to re-direct his frustration toward his bed/
